Thanks for writing in. Without seeing the original lockset I am afraid it's difficult to say what might work for you, as these old Cole Sewell doors used a number of different locksets. That said, start with our 40-049. Note the diagrams below, specifically the hole spacing, or the distance between the centers of each mounting hole, on the plate for the mortise lock (6-15/16") as well as the plate for the handles themselves (6-1/2"). See if these match the empty mounting holes in your door. If they do, then the 40-049 might work for you, but again, without seeing the original, this is only an educated guess.
