I agree, the 82-218 is just a little too different. I'm not very confident that this will work in your door.
The bad news is that we don't have anything else that comes close. The 82-218 really is our best option, though I'm not very optimistic that it will work. Can you tell me how the dimensions of your part compare to those we show for the 82-218?

Hi. My part appear to be a lil more heavier than yours? Did you see the pics I sent? Mine is Approx 4 1/2in from tip to tip..round from top to bottom. 1 3/16in accross the front. 3 3/16in long flat attached piece on back and is 1/2in wide. Hope this helps. The ones in store .ie Home Depot, ACE, Harbor Freight Tools, Lowe's are too small. I found out the hard way..purchased it because it looks similar but when installed, it does not catch onto the piece which is already attaced to the door. Think I need to switch this piece out as well? (See attached pics)

Now that I see the cutout in your door, part of me wonders if there was more to your mortise than what we see here. Might it have had a larger face plate to fill all that space? If so, something like our 82-229 may be what you're looking for.
