I'm having difficulty opening & closing 24 year old vinyl, tilt-in windows. Some won't open, others slam down on fingers when I try to close them - ouch!!! Seems to be the channel mechanism? On sides of window in closest channel the 13" spring is not connected at the top on some windows. Others have broken 2-3 mm polyester string that was wound around plastic piece in middle (acts like a set of pulleys). Please see pics attached. 1pic is label from inside window casing. Im not too handy but am willing to try? how can I fix the windows?
