Window Company Said It Can't Be Repaired

I purchased Sears Weatherbeater Plus 5000 Double Hung Windows from Sears in 2006 and the springs are not working. I have 14 windows that need new springs. Do you carry the springs ? Thank You, Ann

Hi, Ann. We likely would carry the type of spring balances that Sears used back then, but we need to see the parts to identify them. Can you remove them from the window and send photos?

That's a common story from some window shops. They don't always know how to help with repairs, and so they recommend the best option they know: replacing the whole window. It's because they want to help, but sometimes the best bet is just to go see someone else for a second opinion.

I'm really glad you figured this issue out without buying new windows. If you ever need any more hardware, we'd be glad to help.

Turns out window company who insisted springs were shot in all 14 windows is because they were trying to get me to replace all of the windows. So slimmy. I did locate a local window repair person to fix the problem yesterday. Wanted to point out how difficult it is to get the truth from window vendors. I would love to see you add this to your website: Before you replace your windows, call us to determine if they can be repaired.
