Searching for acme 3286
This lock looks like a good match for our 38-092. Check it out and let me know if you agree.
The 3 3/8 height in arm looks perfect, the depth 7/8 is slightly off, mine ACME is 1 inch, but I don't think it is a problem in here. I notice that the 38-092 has 3 screws holes while my ACME has only 1 screw. Do I have to order the support plate 38-278 together to work? Second the screw holes stick out quite a bit, looks like 1/8. But my ACME screw hole does not stick out at all. Is this a problem? Will the lock still sit properly on the frame, or will it be a 1/8 gap between the lock and the frame.
Thanks.
Hello! Concerning the number of screws used, I would check to make sure that your lock doesn't also have three screw holes. It's likely that the installers only used one of the holes. You don't have to use all three to install it or anything.
Regarding the mounting plate, if you already have one and it's in good condition, then there's no reason to buy a new one.
Finally, concerning the way the screw holes protrude, while you have your lock out to check the screw hole, check to see if you have something similar. There could be two cavities in the window frame where the protrusions fit.
If I'm way off base on each point, then please remove your lock from the window in its entirety and show me a clear picture of the underside so that I can see what you're working with.
