Searching for emco andersen 41038

A quick learner says:
I have an old EMCO storm door. I guess Andersen makes them now? The S/N is 566315.
My problem is a weak spring for the solid brass handles. The latch does not engage anymore (Drooping handles). I would like to just replace the spring, but I doubt if that is possible?
A new complete lock set costs about $70.00 from Anderson/Emco. I don't want to spend that just to replace a weak spring?
The complete 'contemporary handle, #41038' would work, but very expensive.
Any suggestions?

I can't be sure without seeing photos of your lockset, but in some cases these old EMCO Storm Door Handle Sets use something like our 40-150 as an inside latch, and replacing this inside latch prevents the outside handle from drooping. On the other hand, you also might be able to replace the entire lockset with something like our 40-058. Compare the dimensions and see what you think.
