Seeking 30 replacement hinges - US Patent 3391420 Japan

A home owner from New Jersey says:
Good evening,

I am trying to find hinges that match the rusted, corroded versions that I removed from my kitchen cabinets. I'd love to find as close of a match as possible to avoid having to drill new holes in the cabinets and doors. Thanks!

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Our 32-101 is the closest match to this hinge, but unfortunately it's almost certainly not going to have the same hole spacing. This problem is all too common with these hinges, and the country of origin is indeed part of the reason why.

You see, these hinges we're originally manufactured in Japan. At some point, the manufacturer moved their factory to China. For reasons that escape both explanation and customer convenience, when the company made this move they changed the molding of the hinge, resulting in a different-sized mounting plate with different hole alignment.

The upshot is that it's pretty much impossible to find the original version of this hinge, and everyone is stuck replacing their broken ones with the newer version with different hole spacing--which, unfortunately, does require drilling holes. I apologize for the inconvenience.
