Seeking info re: purchase of replacement 15 x 1/2 inch non-tilt window channel balancer.
Thanks,
Anne
Hi there Anne.
Thank you for reaching out to us. We can definitely help with this. It will just have to be a custom order due to the 86 stamp. That tells me that your balance has a special calibration that isn't matched by any of our standard parts. Can you tell me how many balances you're looking to order? I can get the ball rolling once I know that.
Anne
May we see a photo of that stamp? We'd also like to see a photo of the inside of the metal channel where the innerspring connects to the pulley mechanism. That is located in the middle of the channel.
I'm also not sure what you mean when you say the bottom of the balance is attached to the window with a screw. This type of balance doesn't use a screw. Could we see a photo of the screw system you're referring to?
Here are the requested pics. I took the channel balancer apart and realized in the process that your are correct- the screw was in place to keep the hook from coming out. The hook was placed in a quite large hole- see pic- not the small slot I assume it should have been inserted.
I sense that they may have obtained the wrong sized channel balancers and needed to figure out how to work with them. Measuring the second bathroom's window, I see that it is the same size as the first bathroom's window and sense that the correct channel balancer might be the one referenced for the first window.
Thank you for getting back to us! I agree with your sense. It sounds like whoever repaired this window previously used whatever parts they had on hand to finish the project. I'll go ahead and email you a purchase link for (4) of the balances shown in your initial batch of photos (the first window). You can use this link to place an order on our website.
I'll be here if you have any questions!
