Seeking proper hardware replacement for sliding glass door mortise lock/latch

We were directed to your company as someone that would be able to help us resolve our sliding glass door hardware issue (especially if no one else could, which is the case).

As you can see from the above photos, we are in need of a replacement sliding glass door mortise lock/latch. Our original part fell inside the door, so unfortunately we do not have any detailed description that we can offer for the part. There is also no manufacturers information on the sliding glass door that we can find (the door was original to the house).

We have already made 4 separate purchases of what we thought would be a mortise lock/latch that would fit - 2 from home depot and 2 online orders through a hardware company that supplies parts, all without success. Please advise if you can provide any help in replacing this part.

The measurement for the oval opening is - length approximately 3 1/8", width 1/2", and from screw hole to screw hole the measurement is approximately 3 3/4".

Hello! If the mortise lock fell in the door, then odds are you had the 82-218. I am pretty confident that this will be a good replacement, but you may want to look over our measurements just to be sure. I think the video below will also be a big help during installation so that the new lock doesn't fall into the door, either. We have a little trick that prevents that from happening.
