Series 160 Coil Balancers

Quick Learner

OrderNumber: 2132689
ItemReturning: 2 - 9 lbs Series 160 Coil Balancers
ReasonForReturning: The pictures show a much bigger inside hole....I need coils that have a ID of 3/4" to fit on support. The ones you sent is only 5/8" will not fit onto support holder. Do you sell 9# coils with a opening that big?

I have attached a picture of the window balancers...

Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with these products, but I'm a little confused as to what the issue is. The inner diameter of the spring shouldn't be relevant to how it's installed at all. Can you go into more detail as to the exact issue you were running into?

It's important to note that the Series 160 spring is designed to be cradled by the cover. You don't insert the cover into the spring. If that's what you were trying to do, then that would explain why it wouldn't fit.

If I'm mistaken, please clarify and I will do my best to assist you.

As you can see form pictures, the new ones the ID is mall than the part it goes over. Pic called coil4 shows the way it should go...pic coil3 is yours and shows it to small of a hole to fit over the part..Pic coil2 has yours on the bottom and old part on top..Yopu can see that the older old has a much bigger ID.

Thanks for the photos, this definitely clarifies thing. What you're showing here is not the way these balances are meant to work. If this is how you found them in the window already, then they were improperly installed.

As I mentioned in my previous post, the plastic cover is meant to cradle the coil spring, not go inside of it. You can see an image below (which a previous customer submitted some time ago) for an example of how it should look.
