Series 600Spiral Tilt Window Balance -- Red Tip

I purchased and received this item. Question about installation. I replaced units but they do not hold up the window. do I have to do something special to "charge" the balance. I purchased the charging tool? Not sure how to proceed. Bob

That's a very good question. You do in fact need to charge your spiral balance. With the sash removed, attach the balance tube at the top of the window track. Next, bring up the spiral up to the nylon bearing, hook the 75-006 charging tool to the bottom balance pin. From there, turn the spiral clockwise about three turns. You will feel the tension build. Now you should be able to pull down the spiral and hook the top pin top the pivot shoe. I have also placed some media guides on this page for further assistance.
