
Sewell storm door latch/handle assembly

Need to replace the entire latch assembly on Sewell storm door.

I have used the 40-049 handle set in the past to replace this Emtex handle. Take a look see what you think.

It worked.
Pros: The mechanism fit. Everything lined up. It works.
Cons: Screw holes on inner/outer plates did not line up, had to be drilled. Inner/outer plates are thinner than original and the screw threads do not run up to the screw head. These 2 things combine making it difficult to tighten the plates against the door. One of the 2 nylon washers was the wrong size and thus useless so I used one of the old washers.

Conclusion: It works.
