Shelter wood double hung windows

Quick Learner from Tulsa OK
Looking for balance blocks that keep the windows from dropping, and hold them in place when raised. 4 per window installed internally with the spring assembly. Windows built in 2000, and Shelter went bankrupt some years ago.great windows, but the nylon/plastic hook on the balance blocks age and break.

Hello there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. It sounds like you need new balances. We'd be happy to help but we will need more information. Can you show us photos of the balance assembly in question? We may need more photos and information after that but we have to know what we're dealing with first. Just something to keep in mind.

I am enclosing a photo of the balance block intact. The white plastic hook parts break off when they fail, and the windows won't stay up. I need quite a few of these, as each double hung window uses 4.

Thank you kindly for the photos. I'm sorry to say that we can't help with this. We don't sell a replacement for this shoe or the balance assemblies that they use. Since this is a wood window, your best bet would be to contact a local millwork for assistance. I sincerely apologize that we aren't able to help with this repair; please let us know if you have any other hardware questions.
