I just purchased the 15-188 shoe which matched what I removed. The shoe locks in place but once I connect the spring it shots right up. I can also move them by hand when locked with minor resistance.

Thanks for reaching out to us! I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with your order. There is a chance we may need a shoe with a slightly larger thickness and a slightly large brake. Would you still possibly have the existing shoe? If so, take a look over the dimensions for the 15-178 Pivot Lock Shoe. This should has a 17/32" thickness and features a .065 brown brake pad.

Attached are photos of the original. It has a blue break like the ones I ordered.

Thanks for the photos. While you shoe does have a blue brake, it is a much different shade of blue than our shoe. So, the most important details to confirm are the dimensions. As mentioned, you'll especially want to confirm the thickness of your shoe and confirm the measurement for the brake pad.
