Silverline Coil Springs

Question

I need to replace the tandem coil springs in a Silverline 8500 series window.  The coils are stamped as follows: 5DD and 5ED.  I need to know what part numbers (your numbers) to replace them with and which coil goes in the pivot box and which goes in the tandem box.  Thank you.

SIlverline windows have been known to use our Series 180 Coil Balances, along with the 15-087 Shoe and 15-086 Tandem block. But I highly advise removing your old hardware from the window and comparing to ensure these components match what you need. Now, as far as what coils to select, the letters are irrelevant in this case--if both have a stamp of 5, then you need the S180-5 5 pound springs to replace both. Either can go in the tandem block or the shoe. Let me know if you have any other questions.
