Simonton Coil Balance

Question

I need to find some replacement balances for Simonton Reflections 5500. The shoe is broken. I either need the whole part or the shoe. Fixing is not the problem, finding the part is.

Hello! Simonton no longer makes this hardware, but we find that the Certainteed brand pivot shoe, our 15-192, is a near-identical replacement. I am confident that this will work for you.

I say near-identical because there is one difference that comes up every so often. There was one particular version of the old Simonton pivot shoe that had a notch in the cam to allow space for its matching pivot bar. The 15-192 lacks this notch; the inside walls of the cam are sheer.

This may not be an issue for you. It looks to me like your inside cam walls are also sheer, but it could just be a trick of the light. Just to play it safe, I recommend holding onto your old shoes just in case you have to swap cams between them. Better safe than sorry.
