Simonton Double Hung Components

Handy Person from Maryland
Windows are out of warranty, registered w. Simonton as Order # 2749151. They are double-hung vinyl frames with two latches per sash.

Need 2 of the latch shown. The latch is numbered 30502 on the inside. I call them latches because technically they aren't locks. I didn't find anything close on the web site.

Required weather strips are all from the bottom most edge of lower sash. It appears that your Product Code: 58-164 is a match but I wanted to consult with you before purchasing.

Need 11 - 33" continuous lengths of the tubular seal shown with the ruler. This seal faces the exterior.

If you recognize the inner v-shaped seal which is visible in photo 100_1692, I can use 4 - 33" continuous lengths of that style as well. They have a similar I-channel design for mounting, like the I-channel visible on the exterior seal. I was unable to expose the cross-section of the inner seal without causing damage.

Thanks very much,
Mark

Thanks for posting, Mark. Actually, for the weatherstripping, I recommend that you take a look at our 581-71. This appears to be a closer match. Let me know what you think.

Now, for the latch, I'll need a bit more information before I can identify a match. First, can you give me the distance between its screw hole centers, as well as the screw hole offset? Can I also see a picture of it flipped over? That will help me find something to match. Thank you!

Thanks Tom!
I had a flipped-over photo, but it was so washed-out it wasn't useful...I'll get a couple of good shots to you asap. I'll also try to get a better spec on the inner v-seal.

I'm also beginning to think I should get micrometer readings on the seals. I looked at product 581-71. Have you had success with "upgrading" bubble seals to foam-filled?

Best,
Mark

Actually, going from bubble to foam isn't that much of an "upgrade," per say. They both perform the same function whether they are filled with foam or completely hollow.

Just let me know when you can get those pictures and we can work from there! Also be sure to let me know the distance between the screw hole centers.
