Simonton Single hung window - need replacement coil spring for 5232208

The information on the broken spring says #5.5 PAT523208 39". It is 1/2" wide. I'm thinking your S160-5 might work. However, is it 39" in length? This is for a single hung window.

Unfortunately, these coils are no longer made with 39" travel length but you should be able to compensate by installing our S160 with 35" of travel in a lower position. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Same - need Several 5.5# 39" for Simonton brand vinyl tilt in windows. Unfortunately the vinyl window does not have an attachment point any higher. They have only molded one cut out for spring attachment.

I have the same issue. Unfortunately, the solution provided by Casey creates another problem because installing the the balance coils lower then causes the tilt latches to bang into the newly installed coil assembly in the lower position. Is there no way to get the springs in 39" length?

Unfortunately, these coils are no longer made with 39" travel lengths, so it would not be possible to supply them that way.

The manufacturers suggest you install the coil spring cover lower on the window track to compensate to the difference in length, as Casey mentioned. I recommend bringing them down with the springs just below where the top tilt latches would be when the window is closed. That way, the top tilt latches won't hit the coil spring cover.
