this is for bathroom window, approx 2'x3', brand Simonton, no label on window, approx 6 year old retrofit windown, the removable window wieghs about 8lbs.

Thanks for posting. See then 15-228 Pivot Shoe, which works with either 1/2" thick Series 160 Coil Balance springs or the 3/8" Series 165 thick springs. You will need to remove and measure the thickness of the springs to find what you need. See what you think.

the spring measures 1/2 inch

Great. In that case you need the 1/2" thick Series 160 Coil Balance springs. You then have to choose a spring weight, which reflects the weight the individual coil can support. Look for a stamp on the spring that denotes this. If there is no stamp, or you're unsure, weigh the window sash to figure this out. The video below explains.

Little confused, do I just need the coil balance spring and I will reuse my existing pivot shoe, or do I need to order new, pivot shoe and part that holds the spring

This setup is modular, so you replace what is broken. If the old pivot shoe and housing is undamaged, reuse it. Otherwise, purchase new ones along with the springs.
