Simonton balance springs

Question

1999 Simonton windows 35.5 x 59.5" Two balance coils each side. Both coils snapped on one side of sash. Coil supports mounted at top and pivot shoes at bottom of sash appear to match your 15-111. My coils match the ends of your S160-5, but my coils are longer than 35". Marked #5.5, 39" 061198. Is the S160-5 the closest I can come and will I have to lower the coil supports? Should I replace all four coils at the same time or just the two on the side that broke? Thanks!

Good question. The parts you chose are correct, our 15-111 pivot shoe and S160-5 coil spring. Unfortunately, the balance spring company change their lengths to 35". You may have to lower the placement of the springs to compensate the shorter coil springs and we do recommend changing both sides.
