Simonton double hung window coil balance

Question

I have a Simonton double-hung window that is about 12 years old in my home.   I need one RH dual-coil balance with the sash carrier, but I don't know what weight.   I also need two pivot bars.  Do I need to weigh my window to get the correct balance?

Your old springs actually look to be in pretty good condition. Odds are you just need a new pivot shoe, which would be the 15-192. Please note that this is a Certainteed brand shoe; your old Simonton brand shoe isn't made anymore.

The Certainteed 15-192 will work the same way, but it will not be compatible with your old pivot bar. As such, you need to reuse the center metal cam from your old one. Make sure not to throw it out.

Speaking of the pivot bar, your style was discontinued and replaced with the 26-336. This will work the same way, but I have to stress that you need to reuse your old metal cam. It will not fit in the 15-192 without it.
