Simonton vinyl double hung window latch

A quick learner from Freedom, PA says:
So I'm trying to help my girlfriend remodel her childhood home. We're trying to start small by fixing the windows. After a bit of investigation, I found out that I the 1970s Sears replaced them with Simonton vinyl double hung double pane windows. The biggest issue is that most the sash tilt lock have gone bad. The question is does anybody have a part number for these in order to do a direct swap or is there a retrofit work around? Sorry for the dust, the house has been unoccupied for 12 years.

Hello,

Unfortunately, the manufacturer of these tilt latches has discontinued them and offered no replacement. We suggest removing the old tilt latch, reinstalling the top side corner screw to keep the sash together, and installing top-mounted tilt latches such as our 26-193 and 26-194 with a #6 pan head screw like the 33-089. Just be careful not to drill into the glass in the process. Thank you.
