Simonton window pivot post

Handy Person from Springville, iowa
I am looking for replacement pivot posts for Simonton windows. I have included a photo of the part needed, and a photo of the ID sticker on the side of the window sash

See our 26-336 Simonton Pivot Bar. Look it over and see if you think this matches what you need.

The Simonton pivot bar looks very similar to what I have. However, the end of the bar that fits into the locking cam on the balance appears to be more tapered that the 26-336 and has a raised, rectangle lip on the end of the bar, instead of round lip set back from the end of the bar on the 26-336. Is the 26-336 an upgraded part over what is in my windows? And will it fit in the existing locking cams? The plastic slide that the cams fit in cracked, when I was cleaning the windows, thus breaking the pivot pin as well. I have replacement cam slides on hand, but just want to make sure I have all the correct parts

The design of your pivot bar is slightly different than the 26-336, yes, but I think you'll be okay. I wouldn't call the 26-336 an "upgrade" per se, but Simonton made this specifically to replace the original. I don't think it works any better or worse, but it is fully compatible with the old balance system.

That's good to know, I'll go ahead and order some replacements. Thanks for your time
