Singing springs

Question

Hey, Springs have a tendency to sing when you release or place strain on them. I think oiling them will reduce this. Would you suggest oil or grease? This is important since, I don't want to look at them again once they are installed.

Would these springs happen to be springs for spiral balances. If so, we would recommend using a white grease for that. If it happens to not be a spiral balance, get back to us with a little more information,if you could, to inform us what type of springs you are referring to.
