Single Hung Sash Window Balance

A quick learner from West Sacramento says:
I have one that shows 21 3. It has wings on the both ends. I believe it is the 15P170 on one of the end as it measured 1 1/8in. I would like to just buy the whole balance with the wings on it already.

I'm not sure what you have, unfortunately. We have dozens of different balances with that stamp. It's not a product code or anything, it just indicates the strength of the spring.

In order to figure out what Series this is, I need you to remove an undamaged version of this balance from the window and show me clear pictures of the top and bottom nylon fittings. I will also need to know the dimensions of these fittings.

A quick learner from West Sacramento says:
I measured the balance to be 22" long. The other dimensions should be in the photos. Thank you.

With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380-22 or S385-22 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. You'll also need 2130 spring strength options for your replacement balances.

Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

I couldn't attach all the pictures so here's the final one. I assume since mine is just a bit longer than 1 inch that I have a 15-0004 S385.

It is squeaking really badly when I open and close the window. Is it possible to get the entire thing put together or do I need to buy the individual pieces to piece it together?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

I agree, yours is almost definitely the Series 385.

All of our balances come fully assembled and ready to install out of the box. There's no need for you to put anything together.
