Sizing needed for 40-183

Question

I have a door-frame which measure 1 3/4 square. (The rest is glass). I need to know the measurement from the edge of the door to the outside edge of the plate which faces you. The plate is 7/8" wide so I suspect the distance to be approx 1 1/2". Also, how deep does the locking mechanism go inside the door?

Thanks for posting! The distance between the edge of the door to the outside edge of the plate on either side of the door is approximately 3/8".

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you ask how deep the locking mechanism goes into the door, since the lock of course goes through the entire door to the other side. Do you mean the latch that hits the door catch? If so, it also sticks out approximately 3/8".
