Sky light problems!

Quick Learner from Los Gatos , california

40966. The only number found on the crank mechanism The company of the skyline is Royalite

I would like to be able to open it at least a foot to get more air circulating in our upstairs area. It seems so flimsy for such a heavy window! It has a crank with a 3 foot pole. The pole I had for the skylight I replaced, was smaller and was at a better angle. It looks like I could possibly change the "head" on the old pole. Thank you for any help you can give me! Online you had a crank mechanism that looked the same. I was not sure if it was interchangeable.

Thanks for posting. Our 39-379 looks similar, was this the one you were looking at? This may work as a replacement, though I can't speak for whether or not it would hold your window more firmly. Your window does look very big. I don't believe our 39-379 would work any differently from your original. If you feel you need something stronger, I would contact a local professional. You may need something specially made for your window size.
