Sliding Door Lock and Key

Home Owner from Germantown, MD.
Good afternoon,

We are looking for a lock and key for our sliding door. The sliding door connects the basement and the rear patio. We need a lock with a key that can be opened with a key from the patio.

Please see the pictures attached, which also include the measurements.

What is the correct part for us?

We truly appreciate your help on this matter.

Hello,

Your mortise lock resembles the 82-218, which is commonly used with the 82-030 handle set with 3-15/16" hole spacing. Take a look and see if the installation hole in your door will accommodate our part. Though our handle set does not come with a keylock, it is compatible with the 82-310 that is sold separately. Take a look at these parts and the related videos. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for your quick response, Casey.

It looks like the (82-030) Sliding Patio Door Handle Set, 3-15/16", has no hole/round space/room to fit the (82-310) Key Lock to put in the key from the outside. There is no hole in the handle for the key.

We want to open the door with a key from the patio (outside) and come into the basement (inside).

Would you please verify it for me?

You would need to remove one of the punchouts in the 82-030 to make room for the 82-310 keylock. Please note that there is a cross insert that will need to be removed the access the punchout. See the video below that shows the process, though you will not require the key lock housing shown in the video.
