Sliding Door Stuck in Closed position

Quick Learner from USA
Our slider is stuck in the closed position. Something has shifted inside the locking mechanism that is preventing the door from being unlocked, but the lock lever can be moved up and down, but the door won't open. Any solutions to this problem?

Thanks for posting. Have you tried removing the handle set from the door and manually 'throwing' the lock with a slotted screwdriver? If it still doesn't budge, I'm afraid there's no good solution short of hiring a pro to make a cut in the door so they can remove the lock. This is hardly ideal, but unfortunately there's no other recourse when a mortise lock breaks in the locked position. I am very sorry we can't do more.

I believe I have the mult-point Mortise 9 7/8s lock set. my question is the dead bolt just spins. CANT LOCK THE DOOR. iT WAS INSTALLED IN 2008. I removed the handle and the little piece of metal that runs through the lock set was broken. Is there a way that Swisco would cary that in there stock. Having a hard time locating one. thank you for your time.

It sounds like the thumb lever on the handle set itself is broken. We may have a match, but in order to check our inventory for something that would work I would need a clear photo of the hardware in question. I specifically need to see the handle, mortise, and thumb lever.
