Sliding Glass Door Mechanism

Question

The locking mechanism inside our sliding glass door handle stopped working today. The latch that comes out of the handle side and connects to the bracket on the door frame isn't coming out or up enough to connect anymore. It barely comes out at all now.

I'm not experienced with these types of things. Could you tell me what it is that I need to buy to fix it?

Thanks for writing in. It sounds like the mortise lock needs to be replaced. Take a look at our 82-227. Go over the dimensions and see if this matches your old lock. Let me know what you find.
