Sliding Windows Wool Pile Replcement

A handy person from Staten Island, NY says:
I need to replace wool pile strips in sliding windows. I checked the existing strips, and the ones on the top and bottom sliding sides have fins, and the ones on the right and left sides don't. Was that done on purpose and has to be followed, or one kind of wool pile for all sides should be fine?

The existing wool pile is worn out, but its size seems to be 9/32"x1/4". What of your items would you suggest for replacement?

Sincerely,
Vlad

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
Thanks for posting, Vlad. One reason why the side wool pile strips don't have the fin is so that there isn't excess friction when moving the window up and down. If that is what the original builders decided on, I wouldn't change it.

I'm not sure exactly what you have. Our 58-045 seems to match up, but I wasn't able to find an exact replacement for the non-fin seal. Check out our selection of wool pile and see if anything here is a better match. You may be able to use our 58-099, but I can't be sure.
