Sliding door handle screws

Question

Hello, i recently ordered item 82-081. It appears the screws are not long enough to fit the width of my door. Its so close, only 1/4-1/2 inch away. The rest of the handle fits my door its just the M4-40 machine screws. Can i go to hardware store and get these screws? Any help with this would be much appreciated. If this handle set works for your door otherwise, I agree that you should be able to either reuse the original screws or bring them to a local hardware store to have them match up the correct replacement. Thank you!
