Sliding door hardware not latching all the time

Question

Each time the door is locked, the "bolt" doesn't flip out and lock into place. So even though the door appears to be locked, it's not. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the handle/lock handle or the locking mechanism itself.

The issue you are having with the door seems to be that the mortise lock is damaged in someway and likely needs to be replaced. Your mortise reminds me of our 82-218 Mortise Lock. Take a look over the dimensions and compare them to determine if this will be a fit for your door. There is a video tutorial tagged below with instructions on how to remove and install this hardware.

You may not need to replace the handle set but yours reminds me of the 82-032 White Handle Set. I am confident this should work for your repairs but be sure to review and compare the dimensions to confirm that this will be a fit.
