Sliding door key lock

Quick Learner
I also have the 311/3122 sliding door lock but misplaced my keys. Would I just need to replace the outside key hole for new key?
Thanks!

Hello,

We'd be happy to look into this for you but we would need to start by seeing photos of your original mortise lock and handle set. That will help us confirm if any of our key locks, which come with compatible keys, would work for your application. Thank you!

Thanks for getting back to us. Your photo resembles the 82-218 mortise lock and possibly the 82-086 handle set with an offset thumb latch. If so, see the 82-310 key lock used with this handle set, which comes with two keys. We've also related videos on this page to help you through the repair process.

Do you have a key lock w/ a 1" tail piece?

The 82-310 key lock has a long tab that can be snapped off to match the length of your original lock. Just make sure not to cut it too short, which will prevent it from engaging with the mortise lock.

How does one "snap off" the tail piece to make it shorter? Just use plyers to bend back and forth on one of those creases until it breaks off? Thx

Take a look at time stamp 3:25 of the video included in our last response, which shows how to snap off the tailpiece using needlenose pliers and a vice grip to hold the part in place.
