Sliding door latch assembly

A small coil spring inside broke. The assembly cannot be disassembled and reassembled easily. Canadian patent number 919213. Patent date 1973. Additional patent number 3596954. A number stamped on the body of the latch module reads 683, which I think is a serial number.

I would purchase two (2) new assemblies that require no modification to the existing door or installation pockets.
