Sliding door latch replacement

Home Owner from Middleton Wisconsin

Trying to locate proper sized latch (mortise?) with handle for my 40 year old patio door. I'm including some pix and dimensions that may be helpful. Please let me know if I can give you any more info. The door is 1 3/4" thick. The old latch is simply wearing out.

Thanks,

Duane

Hello,

It looks like you have an older, discontinued handle set and mortise lock with a different orientation than ours. Despite all of that, we can still help! It looks like the 82-227 mortise lock will work as a replacement for yours and the handle set will need to be replaced with something like our 82-033 or 82-035. You'll notice that both of these replacements have 3-15/16" hole spacing. Because of that, you'll need to drill new installation holes to get one of these to work for you, keeping in mind to be very careful not to hit the glass in the door. Take a look and let us know if you have any follow up questions or concerns. Thank you!

My wood door is a full 1 3/4" thick, not 1 5/8". Would the handles you suggest accommodate that thickness?

I think the handles Casey suggested can still work. In a worst case scenario, you'll need to get longer installation screws from a local hardware store.
