Sliding glass door handle

Quick Learner
Hello,

I recently purchased a sliding glass door handle and 82-081 did not fit.

The door is 1-1/4" thick, and the style is 2-1/4" wide. From the center of the top

screw hole to the center of the bottom screw hole is 4-7/8". And I need a keyed set up.

I'm sorry to hear that the 82-081 handle set didn't work for you. Before I recommend anything, can you show me a clear picture of the mortise lock removed from the door? That will be the biggest determining factor for replacement.

Please note that there's a good chance we don't sell anything that will be an exact fit. In all likelihood you will need to drill new holes to get something working on your door.

This is the mortise lock that is inside the door.

Thanks for verifying. That looks like an older version of the 82-218. With that in mind, I think the best option available to you is the 82-030. This should be compatible with your old mortise lock but it will require drilling new holes to install, since it has a hole spacing of only 3-15/16".

It doesn't come with a key lock, but the 82-310, sold separately, is fully compatible.

Great, thanks. And with the 82-218 and adding on the key set up I won't need a new mortise?

Not at all, the 82-030 handle and 82-310 key lock should be totally compatible with your existing mortise. I see no problem in reusing it.
