Sliding glass door roller from 1979

A handy person from Cathedral City California says:
Hi I believe I have the 81-050 roller assembly. I am wondering if I could order a bronze roller for them part # 81-224 with the corresponding axle. Is it hard to take out the old axle? Do I just drill it out and then replace wheel with axle? Thanks. I will need 8 of the wheels and axles.

This does look like our 81-050 Roller. See our 81-266 Roller & Axle Repair kit, as well as the video on this page that shows how to use that. That said, be certain your original wheels are in fact steel, and not just nylon that have darkened from age and wear. If they're nylon wheels, I think you're better off sticking with the 81-050 as is. It's generally good to stick with whatever the original roller used. Let me know if you have further questions.
