Sliding glass door #sgd-r30-144x82 & sgd-r35-96x82

The latch for the sliding glass door will not raise the latch to lock the door. The inside lever is very loose and will no longer control the piece to latch on the lock.

Sounds like the mortise lock may be shot. Just to confirm, I recommend removing the handle and thumb lever and trying to activate the lock manually with a flathead screwdriver. If you still have problems, it likely has to be replaced. See our 82-226 for a possible match.

The mortise lock on my sliding door has a latch that engages downward on the hook but the part you suggested says the latch must engage upward. Is their a similar replacement part where the latch engages downward onto the wall hook?

You can use the 82-226 either in the upward or downward locking position. All you have to do is simply flip it around.

I am afraid we cannot cross-reference this label to any specific hardware. Can you show us the lock and handle set in question? We'll do our best to narrow down what you need from there.

I am needing to replace the weather stripping on my sliding glass door model SGD-R30, do you offer a kit or is it sold separately.

We don't sell weatherstripping kits like you describe, no. You will need to purchase the seal separately.

I also don't know what seal was used on that door, so at this stage I don't really know what you need and cannot make a recommendation. To start, I'll need you to remove a small, undamaged sample of the original and show me a clear shot of the end profile. I can then check our inventory for a match.

Hello! This handle set looks very similar to our 82-080. I think this may be what you want, but look it over and see what you think.

Hello, Our SGD-R30-144x82 sliding door is not rolling well and sounds/feels very rough and gravely. Cleaning the rails and lubricating does not help much, but I cannot see the rollers themselves. This 20-year old door probably needs new rollers. Do you know the manufacturer of this door and are rollers easy to replace? Thanks!

I'm afraid that sticker doesn't tell me what rollers your door uses. I agree, though, it definitely sounds like they need to be replaced.

Such a project is unfortunately not what I'd call easy. It require removing the door from the frame two times, minimum: the first to remove and identify the rollers, and a second time to actually replace them. Removing the rollers ahead of time to ID is an essential step. There's no other way to determine what they are without taking the door down first, so brace yourself for an involved project.

The video below will go into more detail as to what's involved. Hopefully this helps.
