Sliding window locking clip

A home owner from wisconsin says:
hi, i have these black clips on the sliding windows in my house. they do night reach long enough to lock the window tight. do you know what these are called, and where i can find a slightly bigger one?

I'm afraid that I don't recognize this clip. I understand how they work, though, and can tell you that this method of locking windows isn't commonly used by manufacturers anymore. I've forwarded your photos to my senior colleagues, who have a lot more experience with older windows than I do. They'll try to find some answers for you and will try to get back to you ASAP.

Hi there! I couldn't find this latch, either. Start by looking at our 90-138 and see how well its dimensions compare.

Hi I was wondering if you could tell me what the part number to this clip would be? It goes to the rod that holds the rod in place. that's locks the window.

Hello! What you have here is called the "tie bar guide." These are fairly simple parts whose design changes from year to year. The modern version we sell now is our 39-417; while the size and hole pattern may be slightly different, it should still work in your window. Look it over and see what you think.
