Sliding window sprial balance

A quick learner from Florida says:
The part that hooks the pane to the slider (shown in the picture) rusted and broke. I want to replace the slider and the broken part.
Not sure how to extract the slider shown above.

Thanks for posting. Based on what you described, it sounds like you may need a new pivot bar but I wouldn't be able to identify the one your need based on the provided photo. 

We'll need to see a clear photo your existing pivot bar, undamaged. If you do not have an undamaged pivot bar, we'll need to see one as close to an undamaged condition as possible. Please let me know if you are unable to provide a photo.

There may be an undamaged version in a similar window, if not this one.
