Small lock opening

Hi, 
     I need to replace the lock and handles on my sliding glass door.  The opening for the lock is only 3/4" wide and 1 7/8" tall.  I cannot find a replacement that will fit this.  If necessary, I can cut the hole longer, but would of course prefer not to.  Do you have something that would work?  The screws on the door handle itself are 3 15/16".
