The piece is screwed to the inner side of the window. The second picture shows a broken one.

Hi, Mike. From the angle in your photo, the details of your top sash guide are obscured. I'm afraid you'll need to remove the guide from the window to match it up with something from our selection of top sash guides.

Sorry I didn't take it off and took a picture. However, the top of the sash guide is very unique. You can see it's not square. Judging from this fact, would you be able to point me to the appropriate or the closest one?

We understand. From what I can see in your photo, it looks like you may have a GA window that we have known to be popular in Texas. If that is in fact the case, then you should know the window manufacturer has replaced your current top sash guide with the 18-166. They're no longer made specifically for left and right side anymore. You can now use them in either side.
