Snapped window clip

A quick learner from Connecticut says:
I have one of these a clips that snapped. Before purchasing a new one I'd like to know how to install. It looks like the original was built into its frame for my Harvey double hung. I don't see an obvious solution.

The broken piece at the top of your window jamb looks like the 19-030 Long S-Clip, which attaches to the top of the window track and the bottom hooks onto the balance. I can't be sure but the top of your window frame may be flexible enough to slip out the old clip and slip in the new one.
