Spindle for door latch

Question

I got this 40-145 to replace my old door handle and i can't get the spindle out of the old one. It seems to be bolted in with some odd shaped screw. At any rate, i think it's too big. Do you sell spindles to go with the latches?

We unfortunately don't sell a spindle that can work with the 40-145. To be honest, those spindles aren't really meant to be removed or swapped out. The last time I removed the old spindle from the exterior handle, I had to destroy the handle to get it out.

I think a better option in this case would have been our 40-150. This can accommodate spindle sizes of either 3/16" or 5/16".
