Spiral Balance I.D. and replacement

Handy Person from Mt. Pleasant South Carolina
I have MW tilt sash windows installed in 1997 and need to replace the spiral balances. There are two different size sash through out the house.

The first sash wieghs 23lbs and measures 29X35. The spiral balance tube is 3/8 in diameter and 34" long with a yellow tip.

The second sash wieghs 12 lbs and measures 21X35". The spiral balance tube is 3/8 in diameter and 34" long with a white tip.

On the first sash with yellow tip do I replace with a white tip or green?

See attached photo of yellow.

Thanks for posting! Before I can offer an applicable replacement for your spiral balance, may I first ask whether or not your window is tilt or non-tilt? This will help us determine your balance's Series.

Thank you. In that case, please take a look at our S900-34 spiral balance and see if it matches up with your current balances.

For the first sash, which weighs 23 lbs., please take a look at our S900-34 with a green tip, which can support a sash weight of 14 through 26 pounds.

For the second sash, which weighs 12 lbs., please take a look at our S900-34 whith a white tip, which can support a sash weight of 7 through 22 pounds.

This information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.

Thanks for your help. The S900-34 green and S900-34 white were the two I was considering, just needed your assurance. Now I will place the order.
