Spiral Balance Length

I am trying to replace the spiral balances on several tilt windows. However, after removing the balance on one, I am measuring the tubing at 28 1/2". Do you recommend the 28" or 29" length replacement?

Hello! Looks like some of the tube near the tip is missing. I'm not sure if it has broken off with age or if it was just made that way. In either event, I think you might want to consider a 29" long balance.
