Spiral Balance Replacement

Question

The pictures show the existing balances removed from window which are vinyl tilt single hung. The measurement is 3/8" but shows a black tip. I weighed the window, and the weight is 17.4lbs. The measurement i get when measuring the tube only is 27 1/2 " do i then order 28". It also looks like i should be ordering the 900 series please confirm that this correct.

Thanks for reaching out to us! We typically suggest rounding up when replace tilt spiral balances that have a length with a 1/2" increment. That said, the S900-28 should work well for your repairs.

You can use either the red tip or the green tip for your 17.4lb sash. You'll just need to make sure the tips are matching for both balances being installed.
