I have a red tipped, 3/8" diameter, spiral balancer (x2 for one window). When measuring the length of of the both metal tubes, I am exactly in between your available selections of 28" and 29", I measured the metal only portion and get exactly 28 1/2". My question is, which size do I pick for a replacement, 28" or 29" ? Or do you have another custom selection capability or suggestions?
Thanks for your support and nice web site for you products!!

In addition, the windows that I have failed balancers are all of the smaller 3/8" diameter, red tip, style, and all are the same measured length of 28.5". Do you suggest going to the higher weight capacity green tip or above?
Thanks again. Matt.

Hey, Matt. Older balances were once made on the 1/2", but modern manufacturers only make them on the full inch. We find that bumping up to the next highest inch works fine; in your case, I'd go with 29".
I would weigh your sash on a scale and refer to the chart on the S900-29 store page to confirm the best color tip option.
