Spiral Balance replacement
I have plenty of pivot rods. I just included the image to show how it locks into the shoe.
I cut the vinyl per your video to remove the Pivot shoe. It measures 9/16" deep thick until you get to the pivot point then it is 5/8". It is 1.25" wide.
The spiral balance tube is 25" long and 5/8" in diameter. The end tabs on the spiral part are space 1/2" apart. All our window rods should be blue tipped.
Notice the spiral balance is out of the tube. That happened when I lowered the upper sash. I do not know if I can put it back in or not or what I did to cause it to happen.
I will also need the proper spiral balance charging tool.
I do not know yet how many parts I need to order. Some of my windows won't stay in place, and some are very difficult to raise so I am still in the planning stages.
Regards,
Jim
Hello, Jim. If your balances are 5/8" in diameter then I highly recommend the S600-25. These appear to match yours closely and as long as your tube is that size then it should be perfectly fine as a replacement. The charging tool it can use is the 75-006.
The shoe is a little trickier. I think your exact style is a discontinued part. We have two that might work: the 15-178, which is 17/32" thick, and the 15-188, which is 1/2" thick. For thickness you want to measure the full housing, not the staggered area. It's easier to measure at the top for this reason. Look these two shoes over and see if you think you could use either one.
